Decorate the halls! Seasonal decoration ideas for small spaces

Dec 15, 2016

This season is all about sparkles, surprises and spending time with your loved ones. If you are planning on hosting a party at your condo, things can get a bit tricky when it comes to saving space. However, there’s no need to get your tinsel in a tangle, we’ve whipped up some space-conscious ideas to get you in the holiday spirit. So, however you’re celebrating this holiday season, here are some of our favourite (and festive!) decoration ideas for your condominium.

1.The Christmas Condominium

We know setting up a tree in a condominium is challenging to say the least. Which is why we’ve compiled a few faux-Christmas tree ideas that allow you to free up some space for gifts. You could try pinning up leafy branches on the wall, or recreating a beautiful tree shape in ornaments on a framed cork board that can be stored away for the next year. Both options are very different than your traditional ‘Christmas tree’, but offer a great solution for saving space. Or, you could be extra creative and use your chandelier as your tree, and pile gifts on the table to open in the morning!

2.The Winter Wonderland

Whether you’re walking in a winter wonderland, or wanting to host in one, these festive favourites are perfect for any winter-themed party. Start by cutting out snowflakes, spacing them out and pasting them on ribbons, then go ahead and hang them from the ceiling. Remember, when it comes to snowflakes and decorations, more is always merrier! Next, hang beaded strings over your centrepieces, add pops of blue throughout the room, then scatter some confetti over your tables and you’ll be hosting in a winter wonderland in no time!

 3.The Chanukah Celebration

This year, we’re into Chanukah candles, oversized stars and blue bulbs. Achieving the star look is simple, and it won’t take 8 days and 8 nights.  All you need is either 6 straight sticks or leafy branches to get you started. Next, create two triangles with the sticks by connecting them at the corners, and then overlay the two to create a star. You can hang it up above your table or windowsill, and add string lights for even more sparkle. Other great ideas include hanging blue bulb ornaments from your ceiling and chandelier, and filling bowls and centerpieces with gelt (chocolate coins).

4.The Glitzy Holiday

If you love a pop of colour and glam, these fabulous tree ideas are perfect for you. Inspired by the colours of the rainbow, these trees use multi-coloured ornaments and flowers to achieve a beautiful, ombre effect. Both ideas work well with either a green or white tree, but you can also experiment with different colour trees and bulbs – whichever suits your fancy!

5.The Door Decals

If you’re super space-conscious this season, you can try these awesome and adorable door decorations. You can transform any door in your condominium (fridge included!) into a life-sized snowman. All you need to do is stack 3 different sized wreaths for a simple, yet modern snowman, or use cut-outs to create a face. The result is a friendly and festive way to spread holiday cheer!
