Beach BBQ & Brews Festival in Toronto

The annual Beach BBQ & Brews Festival event is taking place Father’s Day weekend at Woodbine Park! Take in the incredible view at one of the best outdoor venues in Toronto, located at the “Beach” in the east end of Toronto. This family friendly active event offers you and dad a unique atmosphere not found anywhere else in the city.

What’s more–this event is completely free! You and dad can savour the eats of the best rib teams and bbq our country has to offer. With BBQ competitions, and grilling demonstrations, dad won’t want to leave. Live music and, of course, that other father’s dad necessity -beer- will be on tap at the many vendor booths.  This community favourite lasts Friday through to Sunday, giving dad plenty of time to enjoy all of The Beach’s offerings.

Yorkville Exotic Car Show

On Father’s Day 12-5pm over 150 classic and exotic cars will line the streets for the Exotic Car Show. Bloor-Yorkville, Toronto’s destination for high-end boutiques, restaurants, and hotels will play host to this event that draws nearly 100,000 people annually. Share your appreciation of classic and exotic cars with dad while making a difference: the event is free but donations go to prostate cancer research. Walk along the red carpet on Bloor Street between Avenue Road and Bay Street and get up close with some of the best examples of automotive design from around the world, including Porsche, Aston Martin, Ferrari and more! Dad will be impressed with the array of beautiful cars you don’t often see on the road!

Dad’s Day Off

If there’s one word to describe modern fatherhood it’s: busy! In an average week, modern dads are spending nearly triple the time on direct child care, and more than double the time on housework, than their fathers or grandfathers did. Dad is no slouch! Time out is something everyone lusts over but never indulges in because we feel too selfish when we start, or our to-do-list is never-ending. Give dad a day off to do all those things he likes most. Whether it’s binge watching his favourite show, helping him out in the garage on his new project, or just sitting in the Garden with a good book–there’s much to be enjoyed together. The way to any man’s heart is food, and it’s the same with your Dad. Cook him dinner or order out authentic Greek from Messini or Southern Italian soul food from 7 Numbers, and have a good old catch up. Spending time with your Dad is the perfect way to make memories.

Dad doesn’t need another tackle box. Give dad the gift of time and appreciation, free of deadlines, hassles and fixing things on his special day. What dad wants most is to have a day of fun or relaxation, free from daily pressures. For every kind of dad, there’s a perfect Father’s Day activity for both of you to enjoy and remember for a long time to come.
