As the weather starts to get a little colder, thoughts may turn to staying indoors and wrapping yourself up in a warm blanket. However, with so much to do in the Stockyards District during the holiday season, it is the perfect time to get out and explore the neighbourhood! We’re going to take you through our favourite places in the Stockyard District to enjoy this holiday season; so bundle up and get ready.
With the growing influx of people in the area, the Stockyards District has seen a number of craft breweries. These dedicated, hardworking Torontonians are all about the art of creating new, wonderful-tasting beers to share and enjoy with everyone! Be sure to stop by and try rotating seasonal taps, refill growlers, grab some cans and bottles, have a bite to eat, or take a tour of the facilities. We highly recommend visiting Junction Craft Brewing, Rainhard Brewing Co., and Shacklands Brewing (all within a five minute walk of each other) this season to connect with the Stockyards District community. With so much variety, no two visits will ever be alike!
If you’ve been looking for something new and exciting to do this holiday season, look no further than Bad Axe Throwing! This new activity is taking cities by storm with holiday events, birthdays, and office parties all looking to book something beyond your average get together. Grab a group of friends, throw on some plaid, and get ready for an absolute blast! This is one of the few axe-throwing locations available in the city so be sure to schedule ahead if you have a big group. If it’s just you and a couple friends you may be able to walk-in, but it is a popular spot!
If you’re like us, you’ll agree that nothing says holiday party like a mouth-watering charcuterie board on the table. If you’re looking to really boost your next get-together we strongly recommend you visit La Ferme Black River Game Farm Inc.! The staff here will help guide you through all their artisanal and naturally raised premium game meats including charcuterie, pates and terrines. Of course, it doesn’t stop there! Do yourself a favour and wander through the incredible selection of cheeses from all across Canada, France, Spain, Italy, Holland and Switzerland; produced by cheesemakers who emphasize quality and old-world traditions.
Known mainly for the activities offered during the summer months such as soccer, ball hockey, and the wading pool, Earlscourt Park may have escaped your mind as the snow begins to fall. However, it is here that the Giovanni Caboto outdoor rinks provide endless hours of seasonal fun for everyone of all ages within the local community. Be sure to grab your skates and make the quick journey over to enjoy some time out in the crisp winter air with your loved ones!
Although it may seem like the season to hibernate away, the holiday season is a great time to explore your neighbourhood and see what all it has to offer. There’s even more available than what we just mentioned above! Go out and find your own favourite places in the Stockyards District this holiday season. From all of us at Marlin Spring, we hope your holidays are full of new discoveries and happiness this year.
